On October 22, 2025, Don Bosco Tech Thakurmunda marked a memorable milestone by hosting its first guest lecture for the Electrician Domestic Solutions (EDS) – Batch 4, under the Skills to Succeed 2025–26 program. The special session was graced by Dr. Girish Charan Adhikari, Senior Doctor at Thakurmunda Hospital, who served as the esteemed guest lecturer for the day.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by Domain Trainer, Mr. Abhimanyu Behera, and Centre Head, Mr. Sarat Chandra Tripathy. They extended their greetings to Dr. Adhikari and introduced him to the trainees, setting an engaging tone for the session. Guest lectures form an integral part of Don Bosco Tech’s training approach, bridging classroom learning with real-world wisdom. This particular session proved to be an inspiring and eye-opening experience for all participants.

Dr. Adhikari began his talk by addressing a topic that resonates deeply with everyone — Health and Wellness. He reminded the trainees that health is not merely the absence of illness but a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being. Drawing from his medical experience, he emphasized the importance of maintaining a balanced lifestyle amidst today’s fast-paced world.

“Good health is the foundation of all success,” he shared, highlighting three pillars of wellness — a balanced diet, regular exercise, and a positive mindset. He encouraged the trainees to incorporate simple yet powerful habits such as eating fresh fruits and vegetables, drinking sufficient water, avoiding junk food, and staying active for at least thirty minutes a day.

Beyond physical health, Dr. Adhikari shed light on the often-overlooked aspect of mental wellness. He urged everyone to take time to relax, build meaningful connections, and engage in activities that bring joy. Stress management, he noted, is essential for maintaining both emotional and physical strength. He also underscored the importance of preventive healthcare through regular check-ups, timely vaccinations, and early diagnosis.

Concluding his insightful session, Dr. Adhikari reminded the trainees that good health is the greatest wealth one can possess. He encouraged them to make small, consistent efforts toward living healthier, happier lives — efforts that ultimately enhance personal growth and professional success.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Abhimanyu Behera, who expressed gratitude to Dr. Adhikari for his time, wisdom, and valuable guidance. The lecture left the participants not only motivated to prioritize their health but also inspired to pursue their vocational goals with renewed energy and confidence.

This guest lecture served as a remarkable step in enriching the holistic learning environment at Don Bosco Tech Thakurmunda — reaffirming its commitment to shaping skilled, responsible, and well-rounded individuals for a brighter tomorrow.
