Don Bosco Tech Society (Gulbarga) aptly celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 7, 2020.  Ms. Praveen Priya (Joint Director, Welfare Karnataka Development Board, Gulbarga), Ms. Megha Rahul Pandve (Wife of Asst District Commissioner, Gulbarga), Sr. Reena Disousa (President, Child Welfare Committee, Gulbarga), Ms. Geetha Sajjan Shetty (Lawyer and members of the juvenile justice board, Gulbarga)  Fr. Saji George (Center Head, Don Bosco Tech, Gulbarga), the staff members and trainees of Don Bosco (Pyar)graced the occasion.

The day kick started with a prayer song by trainees. Ms. Sheetal (Trainer, CE & ITES) welcomed the guests.  The program dispelled the darkness by lighting the lamp by the dignitaries.

Fr. Saji addressed the gathering who insisted upon creating a strong foundation for women's empowerment, economic independence, self-reliance, family values, and gender equality.

Mrs. Praveen was the next speaker who, in a brief note, spoke about the significance of women's day. She gave some living examples of women's harassment and strongly advised the male trainees to respect women saying “If you respect, you will be respected.” He added, “Respect is earned, and not demanded.”

It was indeed a grand program organized by the male trainees. The program ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Shivaraj Kumar (Trainer, Retail Sales).
