Ashok is a Commis at Royal Palace ABUDHABI with a package of 4.80 Lakhs per Annum. After his father passed away, he had to take the weight of supporting his family. His journey to success started with a little earning as a fisherman to greater heights in Abudhabi after completing the Food & Beverage steward course from Don Bosco Tech Pondicherry.

 Ashok hails from a rural area called AzhikuppamKadalur of Chengalpet Dist. He is the youngest of his family with two elder sisters. His father passed away during his school days and he was compelled to take care of the family. Fishing was the only source of income for him and this was not sufficient to meet his and the family’s needs.

A wise person quoted that "Most people think "selling" is the same as "talking". But the most effective salespeople know that listening is the most important part of their job.” Likewise, a simple guy from AzhikuppamKadalur of Chengalpet Dist made it a point to listen well to what was being taught in the Food & Beverage- classroom leading to his success as a Commis.

 Ashok during his interaction with the trainers chose to get trained in the Food & Beverage domain. He had a determined vision and aim to do better in his life before he came to Don Bosco Tech and he became more certain about what he wants to do in his life once he started attending his classes. According to his trainer, he was a sincere and hardworking person who was well aware of his responsibilities as the only bread earner of the family. With the qualification of being a graduate and fishing as his family’s only source of income, he became more determined and focused on his goal. His performance in the classroom was excellent.  Being a good communicator, modest, conscientious and ambitious, Ashok did everything that could help him do better in life and soon after his completion of the course, he was placed at TGI Star Holidays Resort at Yercaud. 

After his Job Training, he joined The Ocean Spray Resort at Pondicherry as a Commis with a salary of Rs.9500/month along with free food and accommodation. It was a very much needed help to his family. But he was not satisfied with that amount. His vision and dream were entirely different. Often he shared his view that he wanted to work abroad and earn more to lift the financial burden of his family. Somebody has said it correctly that there are three ingredients in making a good life: learning, earning and yearning; Now he is working as a Commis at Royal Palace ABUDHABI with the package of 4.80 Lakhs per Annum which gives him immense joy and he says he’s “finally found a way to live his life”.
