A poor farmer, who owns a small land that produces just 40 quintal of rice in a year, feels guilty at not letting his youngest son Idalia samding to study further since he has no money to spend on his studies. We are talking about the family who lives in a rural village in Peren District of Nagaland, Azailong. The family includes Mr. Kisie and Mrs. Miakeilak, with their three childrens (2 sons and 1 daughter). Idalia passed his class 12 from Government Higher Secondary School at Jalukie Town but could not go for further studies.
One bright day, during the mobilization activity at Peren District, one of the DB Tech Trainer met Idalia and told him about the BASE Training Programme offered DB Tech. This BASE Programme being launched by DB Tech in partnership with MORD, Govt of India offers three months livelihood training courses in various areas for the neglected youth and also help them get placed in the job market.
Without wasting much of his time, he got his name registered at the Asisi Centre and gave the interest inventory test that decided that he will be given training in Retail Sector. The Training Programme made him learn new skill; it made him confident enough to get a job in the Retail Sector. The training of Retail Sales Sector involves theory as well as practical class, Mock Test, Demonstrations, Industrial Trainings; Industrial Exposures. Moreover, Soft Skill and IT education are also imparted to the students. When Idalia came for the training at the Center he was a shy guy who hardly speaks to anyone. Even when he uses to speak, he was the person of few words. But at the end of 90 days of training his progress was unbelievable; he was now confident and well equipped with the skills to work for his own living. He has turned to be one of the best products of retail sales trainee in the Assisi Center.
After the completion of the training, DB Tech arranged for his interview with Vishal Mega Mart (Air Plaza),who had some openings in their outlet in Dimapur. Along with him many qualified trainees went for the interview, and out of some who got selected, Idalia was the one. He has been hired as Sales Executive with the monthly salary of Rs 3000. On getting this job, he shared his feelings with us saying, “Today I m on cloud nine, I am now earning Rs 3000 per month out of which Rs 1000 I spend on my monthly expenditure and rest is saved for family and my education, I am very happy to be working, I really enjoy my work. Within one year, I am hoping to become Floor Supervisor”.
Some of his fellow colleague shared their experience of working with him; they recited that he is really confident; he deals quite confidently providing good service to his customers. His parent’s are of the view that this training programme has given Mr. Idalia Samding so much to count, his personality has improved tremendously from ‘no words-shy guy’ to a confident Sales Executive today, we thank DB Tech for this pleasure.
