The inaugural ceremony for the first Batch for SHA-Hyatt Youth Employability commenced on July 14, 2021, at 11 am with the lighting of the lamp by Father James the Rector of Salesian College Sonada, and Miss Joshika Rai Trainer for food and beverage service-steward. The Inauguration started with the welcome and introduction to Don Bosco Tech Society and Don Bosco Tech Sonada by Miss Muskan one of the trainees. She wished for the comfortable and productive stay of the participants. Mr. Vivek Ghaley trainer of soft skills cum placement coordinator for SHA Batches introduced all the dignitaries. Father James(SDB) Rector of Salesian college Sonada, Mr. Stanly Jones (Chief operating officer, Don Bosco Tech Society, Delhi), Mr. Joy Wairokpam (Regional program manager, East, Don Bosco Tech Society, New Delhi), Mr. Augustin Tarun Tesla (State M&E, MIS Coordinator operations, DBTech Society West Bengal, Mr. Romden Rong Lucksom (State Placement & Communication, DBTech Society West Bengal), Mr. Kaushik Roy (Project coordinator, ITC East).
Mr. Stanly Sir thanked the organizers of the virtual inauguration and for the invitation. He shared the mission and vision of Don Bosco Tech Society. And how it has changed the livelihood of lakhs of candidates. He also gave a good bird’s eye view about Sustainable Hospitality Alliance and its mission. Fr James the Rector of Salesian shared the information about St. Don Bosco and about his work ethics and how he worked in borrowed premises, provided boys with education, religious instruction, and recreation; eventually, he headed a large establishment containing a grammar school, a technical school, and a church, all built through his efforts. He achieved a local reputation as a popular preacher. Father also shared a story about a boy he met and how he had helped him to get enrolled in the hospitality sector and surprisingly met him after a few years in Paris working as a head chef in a reputed hotel.
Then one of the alumni from DBTech Sonada Mr. Anuj Malay shared his experience in the hotel industry and how it changed his life and way of living. He thanked DBTech society for bringing the best out of him during his training period at the center and changing him into a completely different person. Parents of the current batch spoke to dignitaries, the trainees and motivated them to work hard and achieve their goals. In the end, Mr. Joy Wairokpam our Regional Programme Manager offered a vote of thanks to all including Father Rector James(SDB), for his constant support and motivation. He said that the very presence of the honorable Rector is the refection of the importance that is attached to the commitment of the Centre for Youth Employability. He thanked all the dignitaries for gracing the occasion with their solemn presence and all the participants of this event.
