DB Tech Manikandam, Trichy & Amsam Jointly Celebrate 79th Independence Day

Trichy, August 13, 2025: The 79th Independence Day was marked with a vibrant celebration as DB Tech Manikandam, DB Tech Trichy, and DB Tech Amsam came together to honor the spirit of freedom, skill development, and youth empowerment. The event, held at DB Tech Manikandam in collaboration with Alaihal Media House, brought together trainees, alumni, staff, and distinguished guests for a day filled with sports, cultural programs, and motivational interactions that left a lasting impact. The festivities ran from 10:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
The joint celebration saw active participation from three centers: DB Tech Manikandam’s Graphic Designer Batch B2 with 16 students and 6 alumni; DB Tech Trichy’s Digital Mithra Batch B2 with 17 students and 3 staff members; and DB Tech Amsam’s Telecom Customer Care Executive Batch B1 with 26 students and 2 staff members.
The morning session was dedicated to sports and team-building activities, fostering unity and healthy competition among participants. The day commenced with an inspiring address followed by a Volleyball Competition, inaugurated by Rev. Fr. John Barnabas SDB, Rector of Alaihal Media. Students were divided into Alpha, Beta, and Gamma teams, emphasizing collaboration and leadership skills. This was followed by a Throwball competition for girls, inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier SDB, and a Rangoli competition, evaluated by Fr. Rupan SDB, Fr. John Barnabas SDB, and Mr. Sahaya Raj from DBMAC. A Speech Competition in Mamma Hall provided students a platform to express their thoughts, confidence, and vision for the future. The morning concluded with a special non-vegetarian lunch hosted by DB Tech Manikandam, offering a moment of camaraderie and connection.
The afternoon session focused on cultural expressions and intellectual engagement. It began with the DB Tech Anthem and a lively welcome dance performed by DB Tech Manikandam trainees. Mrs. Sathya Sheela, Domain Trainer at DB Tech Trichy, delivered a warm welcome speech. This was followed by the lamp-lighting ceremony and formal honoring of the guests.
Rev. Fr. John Barnabas SDB delivered the Presidential Address, highlighting the role of youth in nation-building and encouraging students to integrate patriotism with professional excellence. DB Tech Trichy trainees performed a thought-provoking skit titled “Women’s Independence in Today’s World,” shedding light on contemporary issues and inspiring conversations on empowerment.

The day also celebrated talent and achievement through a prize distribution ceremony that reflected dedication and healthy competition. Volleyball champions were the Alpha Team from Manikandam, while the Gamma Team from Amsam won the Throwball event. Rangoli accolades went to DB Tech Trichy’s Antony and Kanaga, with Harini and Gopi from Manikandam as runners-up. In the Speech Competition, Subaitha from DB Tech Trichy won first place, and Shanmuga Priya from Manikandam was the runner-up. Special awards recognized exceptional contributions, with Subaitha named DBTechie Icon and Domin from DB Tech Manikandam honored as DBTechie Role Model.
The celebrations concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Praveen Jerry Mon, Center Coordinator at DB Tech Manikandam, followed by tea and snacks, leaving students inspired and invigorated. The event not only commemorated India’s Independence Day but also reflected the core mission of DB Tech – Skilling India, empowering youth with knowledge, confidence, and the spirit of innovation.
