Introduction

As part of the Skill Development Program, Don Bosco Tech Society, Rajahmundry Centre organized an industrial visit to Sri Sarvaraya Sugars Limited (Coca-Cola Bottling Unit), Kesavaram. The primary objective of this visit was to provide students with practical exposure to real industrial operations and help them understand how large-scale manufacturing industries function. Such industrial visits bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical industry experience, enabling students to relate theoretical concepts to real-world applications.


Objectives of the Industrial Visit

The main objectives of the visit were:

  • To expose students to a modern manufacturing environment.
  • To understand the complete beverage production and bottling process.
  • To learn about industrial automation and machine operations.
  • To observe quality control and food safety standards.
  • To understand workplace safety measures and the importance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • To motivate students by providing practical industrial exposure and career awareness.

Activities During the Visit

During the visit, the students and trainers were warmly welcomed by the company officials, who introduced the organization and explained its manufacturing process, quality standards, and operational procedures.

The participants visited different sections of the plant, where they observed:

  • Water purification and treatment process.
  • PET bottle manufacturing (Bottle Blowing Unit).
  • Automatic bottle rinsing and cleaning process.
  • Beverage filling and sealing operations.
  • Bottle capping and labeling process.
  • Packaging using automated conveyor systems.
  • Finished goods storage and warehouse management.
  • Dispatch process for transporting products to different locations.

The company representatives also explained the importance of maintaining product quality, hygiene, production efficiency, environmental responsibility, and customer satisfaction throughout the manufacturing process.


Safety Measures Observed

Students learned about the safety procedures followed inside the factory, including:

  • Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Safety instructions before entering production areas.
  • Hygiene standards maintained in food and beverage industries.
  • Fire safety systems and emergency exits.
  • Safe handling of machines and equipment.
  • Importance of following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Safety, Security and Photography Guidelines

The company maintained strict safety, security, and confidentiality protocols throughout the industrial visit. Before entering the factory premises, all students and trainers were instructed to follow the company's rules, regulations, and safety guidelines.

Photography and videography were strictly prohibited inside the production and manufacturing areas to protect the company's confidential manufacturing processes and industrial security. Therefore, no photographs or videos were taken inside the factory premises.

Only group photographs of the 29 Drone Manufacturing & Assembly Technician students and the training team were taken outside the factory, where photography was permitted. Throughout the visit, all participants maintained discipline, followed every instruction issued by the company officials, and demonstrated professionalism and respect for industrial safety standards.

The industrial visit helped the 29 Drone Manufacturing & Assembly Technician students gain practical knowledge beyond classroom training.

The students learned:

  • Industrial workflow and production planning.
  • Working principles of automated manufacturing systems.

The visit also improved their understanding of industrial discipline and professional work culture.


Conclusion

The industrial visit to Sri Sarvaraya Sugars Limited (Coca-Cola Bottling Unit), Kesavaram was highly informative, educational, and successful. It provided valuable practical exposure to 29 Drone Manufacturing & Assembly Technician students, along with the faculty members and Field Officer.
