To showcase and to get the real experience of the industry, Don Bosco Tech (Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh) organized an exposure visit for trainees of F&B Steward to Reddy’s Motel, which is located in Kurnool. All the trainees were accompanied by Mr. Hyder Basha (Hospitality Trainer, Don Bosco Tech - Kurnool) to Reddy’s Motel on February 25, 2019.

Mr. Dasaratha Rami Reddy (Manager, Reddy’s Motel) welcomed all the trainees, took them to different sections in the hotel and briefed well about the day to day activities. To facilitate the visit, he assigned one of the senior staff of the hotel who shared an overall overview of the hotel industry and importance and objective of different sections. While explaining, Mr. Hyder Basha added about the overview and different departments of the Motels, Food and Beverage Services, budgeting, compiling new menus and wine list, quality control and manpower, assisting section heads during busy periods etc. He also described on how to manage the F&B Department independently in the absence of respective Manager, work environment in F&B Services, Food preparation, table settings, table manners and a la carte services etc.

Mr. Dasaratha explained about the work culture and briefed on grooming standards like hair style, uniform, shoes, etc. He demonstrated how to serve food and beverage, table setting like placing a plate, napkin left of the plate, drinking glass, spoon and knife how to clean the cutlery and crockery, the area space for all the utensils including salt, pepper, ashtrays etc.

At the end of the exposure visit, all the trainees felt really happy for the real work place experience of hotel and thanked the management of the hotel especially Mr. Dasaratha who facilitated and explained each and every thing very well. The visit was winded up with group photo and all trainees left to DB Tech centre later.
