Fund Raise for Skill India Mission

It was December 8, 2019, when Don Bosco Tech (State Team, Dimapur) along with Don Bosco Tech (AIDA, Dimapur) organised buffet under the banner ‘EAT FRESH ETHNIC CUISINE FOR A GREAT CAUSE’ in its campus. The entire team members of Don Bosco Tech (Dimapur Region) consisting of Mr. Kishore Das (Regional Manager, Meghalaya), Don Bosco Tech (Dimapur State Team) and Staff and students of Don Bosco Tech (AIDA, Dimapur) made it a grand success.
The event was organized with a view to raising fund for Don Bosco Tech’s Skill India Mission. The raised fund would be used towards training the underprivileged youth.
The buffet coupons were distributed to each team member for sale with a target to bring in the fund. Contributions in kind were also received from individuals. State team of Dimapur Province and Don Bosco Tech (AIDA) team left no stone unturned in preparing the meal. Some of the team members even came along with their family members to prepare a special local dish adding variety to the served meal.
Br. Sunny Joseph (Director, AIDA) and Mr Kishor Das (Regional Manager, Meghalaya) shared about Don Bosco Tech and explained the purpose of organising the dinner to the guests with the help of videos and PowerPoint presentations while the guests enjoyed the sumptuous meal. In total, 280 guests came for the buffet. Local cuisines and delicacies were prepared for the dinner. The buffet was well organised and the guests were happy with the delicious meals served.
Total collection amounted to Rs. 1,88,240/- after deducting the expenses. Besides the sale of coupons and physical involvement, individual team members also sponsored items like salad, vegetable fry, paneer, local delicacies, cakes for dessert, rice and cooking gas which reduced the expenses for the buffet.
On January 9, 2020, Br. Sunny handed over the cheque of Rs. 1,88,240/- to Fr. Jose Mathew (President, Don Bosco Tech) during the Governing Body Meeting held in Don Bosco Skill Mission, Bangalore.
