Persons like Mrs. Preeti, is ambitious and passionate, Don Bosco Tech is proud to have. Bihar Sharif, Bihar is her native place which is quite remote. Her economic condition was not so well from her childhood. Father, a carpenter, and mother, a self-made-tailor used to earn from hand to mouth. She has five siblings. But one of them is working. In this backdrop, Mrs. Preeti managed to complete her 10th from a village school by dint of her hard work. However, she dropped out of school due to financial problems. “I wanted to be an entrepreneur from my childhood. But didn’t know what to start with. Finance was the main stumbling block,” said Mrs. Preeti. She was married off to a man working in a coffee shop based in Delhi at the age of 17. She was married at an early age because the parents wanted to relieve the financial burden of each member of the family.

Mrs. Preeti had shifted her stay with her husband to Delhi while one of Don Bosco Tech’s staff members contacted her during mobilization and briefed about its free skill training program at Najafgarh, Delhi. The staff also threw light on pursuing a course on beautician, explained the pros and cons of it. Soon she enrolled for the program. During the training, she was keen on learning the latest trends of beauty and care. She was punctual and discipline but a bit introvert. However, she was able to overcome by the end of three months with constant guidance from the staff. This way the training on Life Skills was a boon for her.

“The way we were trained; I could have easily got a job. But I chose to be an entrepreneur,” said Mrs. Preeti. What she said, has demonstrated by owning a beauty parlor named ‘Preeti Beauty Parlor’. It was a very humble beginning with very meager savings she had. She was a bit nervous yet challenged herself to kick-start with no industrial experience.

Mrs. Preeti is happy who earns on an average of Rs. 20,000 per month. With her earning she can run the family. She is thankful to Don Bosco Tech Society and its team who came as a ray of hope. Otherwise, life would have been ruined. She encourages many youths like her to join the Don Bosco Tech Society’s skill training to shape their future.
