Many of us can relate to the fact that who we become as adults and how we feel about how we are, is shaped by the influences and experiences we go through. A mother of two, living with an unemployed husband, Mrs Saroj knows what lifts her and what weighs her. She runs a profitable business in Roshan garden, Najafgarh in Delhi with an earning of a minimum of Rs.15000/ per month.

“Some people dream of success while others wake up and work”

Mrs. Saroj resides in 205 AS Roshan Garden, Najafgarh, which is located in south-west Delhi. She lives with her husband and two children. She grew up in a middle-class family. Mrs. Saroj had a dream to open up her very own Boutique shop. However, looking at her jobless husband, she feels a combination of sympathy and annoyance towards him. She became restless and crave to search for jobs to sustain her family.

A ray of hope peeped into her life when the ex-trainer informed her about the free skill training program of Don Bosco Tech Society. This information was revolving in her mind which impels her to enquire more about the training program. She was briefed about a project launched by Govt. of India for the youth, under which the youths can avail free of cost training along with placement facility. She convinced herself that this can be a lifetime changer. Without wasting time, she immediately grabs the opportunity to enrol herself in the Industrial sewing machine operator course at Don Bosco Tech Najafgarh center, with the hope that she will be able to overcome the financial constraints of the family. This was the first step in her journey towards securing a decent life for her and her family.

Along with her ambition, comes a sense of nervousness on her first day of training. After her marriage, she was most of the time confined to the four walls of the kitchen and taking care of her husband and children. Until she joined the training, for the first time she was asked to introduce herself to a large number of students. She learned many things in the Industrial sewing machine operator (ISMO) domain. Her focus and level of learning and understanding are exceptional. She learned and grabbed knowledge of many things in a very short period. Her trainers say that she was one of the intelligent, sharp, disciplined and humble student, who is found to be keen to learn and to earn. After the training, she managed to set up her own business in Roshan garden, Najafgarh in Delhi and earning a minimum wage of Rs.15000/ per month. She is very grateful to God profusely for showering his blessings upon her.
