“I am forever thankful to Don Bosco Tech Society and the trainers who have given me the support to help me choose to follow what I wanted. Now I am sure that I will have a nice home and I could be a pharmacist one day.”

Anmol Minj chooses to shine out among the misguided, misled, confuse and school dropout youths in his village. While nursing has been a historical female-dominated industry, the tide is certainly changing for gender equality in all professions. With the demand for male nurses, Anmol joined Don Bosco Tech Latabari under Accenture Phase 11 Project and comfortably opted for the General duty assistant course. He is presently working as a Nurse Aide at Portea Home Medical Care services in Bangalore.

Anmol is from a village called Gairtaka of Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal. He lives with his father Florence Minj who is a tea garden worker and his mother Ankita Minj a homemaker. He completed his 12th standard from Demdima Fatima High school. Unlike others in the village, he has a dream to achieve something in his life. Being raised by a humble tea gardener, he has less hope to fulfill his dream. He was stressed because he did not get the grades he was expecting and he will not be fit to get a job. He was confused about what to do next. Warmth under the care of his parents, he stepped out of his comfort zone and reached out to the staff of Don Bosco Tech Latabari and found them very welcoming. He chose the GDA advance course as he is interested in Health. This comes as a ray of hope to give his dream a wing.

His strong will and determination could be seen during the three months of training, always active, keen to learn something new. He felt overwhelmed with managing his time and getting accustomed to the training. With the help of his trainers and his commitment to do better, he managed to organize his time and become more involved in opportunities of interest. He was able to break out of his shell, expand his concern beyond classes and become more involved with events around the campus.

After three months of rigorous training and hard work, he got the opportunity to work with NA Portea Company with a salary package of CTC Rs. 18,050/- per month. He wants to be a pharmacist. He also wants to build a nice house for his family. Anmol experienced the benefit of the training program and now serves as a young mentor who influenced the youths in his village.

We wish him a bright and successful future.
