25 Jun 2022
June 25, 2022 marks a memorable day for Don Bosco Tech. Jumaikela Centre as Fr. Davis Maniparamben (President, Don Bosco Tech Society and Provincial, Delhi Province) along with Fr. Shilanand Peter Kerketta and Fr. James Jainiwas (Centre Head Jumaikela) made a visit. Fr. Provincial is on his official visit to all the communities of Society of Bon Bosco (SDB) fathers under his province.
It was a short duration interaction started at 10:45am. On behalf of the trainees and trainers present at Jumaikela Centre, Fr. Jainiwas welcomed Fr. Provincial and Fr. Kerketta. The students then sang a melodious welcome song along with mandar (traditional musical instrument) beat. They made beautiful flower bouquets and presented to fathers. Thereafter, Fr. Kerketta encouraged trainees saying, “Every great personality has had a humble beginning”. He narrated many real life examples like: Steve Jobs (founder, Apple Company) Ms. Draupadi Murmu, first tribal lady politician to be nominated as presidential candidate for upcoming election and Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft Software Company. Fr. Provincial inspired trainees with the stories of Japanese’s principles that they follow in order to prolong their life. Some of those he spoke about were: Do what you love, do what you are good at, do what the world needs, do what rewards you, do stay united with everyone around you. He simplified these principles saying, “Do what you love, so that you may have interest built up and be passionate about. Do what you are good at, that is to operate on your core competency, recognizing the uniqueness with which God has sent you in this world…”.
One of the participants from the trainees said that, it was inspirational listening to their encouraging words and interacting with them. Students and trainers were thankful to the fathers for taking time out from their busy schedule to meet them. We had sweet happy ending to an hour gathering with the stribution of snacks provided by the Centre head.
