On June 5th, 2021, amidst the challenges posed by the ongoing pandemic, the Don Bosco Tech Society at Smailpur marked World Environment Day with a virtual celebration. Despite the inability to gather physically, the spirit of the occasion remained undiminished as trainees and trainers eagerly convened on Zoom to partake in insightful discussions and share their fervor for environmental preservation.

The virtual gathering served as a platform for exchanging ideas and perspectives on safeguarding our planet for future generations. Participants, hailing from both rural and urban backgrounds, engaged in comparative analyses of their respective environments. Through this dialogue, they collectively recognized the detrimental effects of unchecked development on climate, ecosystems, and quality of life in urban settings.

The session culminated with a shared understanding of the imperative to protect our environment and the individual roles we can play in this endeavor. A key takeaway was the importance of taking proactive steps towards conservation. Participants were encouraged to cultivate awareness and action by planting saplings in their homes and communities, underscoring the notion that every individual contribution matters in the larger pursuit of environmental stewardship.

By fostering a deeper appreciation for World Environment Day and empowering individuals with tangible ways to effect change, the event left its participants motivated and equipped to champion sustainability in their daily lives.
