Smailpur is a Village in Purmandal Block in Samba District of Jammu & Kashmir State. It is located 25 KM towards west from District headquarters Samba. Unemployment is the biggest issue which Smailpur is facing & that is why Don Bosco Tech decided to intervene into the situation and established Himayat Training Centre on July 2018 with its first batch starting from August 14, 2018. It is situated on the main road & has good connectivity to all the places & people reach to the centre comfortably. All the class rooms/labs are well equipped & centre ambiance is very good. The centre building is in a Hospital & as one of the domains is GDA so will be beneficial for candidates during the training & OJT. It is running successfully with 59 enrolled candidates.

Short term vocational training programs are of three months' duration, in which the students are given technical inputs prepared in consultation with industry experts and professionals. The course includes on-the-job training, assignments and field visits. Valuable life skills are also integrated into the curriculum through an interactive teaching process.

Don Bosco Tech (Smailpur) celebrated Teacher’s Day on September 5, 2019, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was a renowned scholar, recipient of Bharat Ratna, first Vice- President and second President of independent India. The teacher’s day was organized by the trainees.
