Don Bosco Kuanrmunda, EIPL and Don Bosco Tech arranged an industrial visit to Shri Mahavir Ferro Alloys Pvt. Ltd. Kalunga, Rourekela for the betterment in professional ethics of trainees. Visit was accompanied by Fr. Antree KA along with all Multi Skill Technician trainees of EIPL project on March 11, 2023, which helped them to dream their growth and progress in the chosen job role. The students arrived at the company around 09:30 hrs, where they were greeted by HR manager Mr. Sunil Sharma of Shri Mahavir Ferro Alloys Pvt Ltd.

The twenty one member team of trainees and staff started the Industrial Visit (IV) journey to Kalunga Industrial Estate at 8.45am from Don Bosco Vocational Training Institute Kuarmunda as pre-arranged. The journey began with a short prayer and the team reported at Gate No.1 on time. Mr Sunil Sharma, the HR Manager welcomed the contingent and started off the Industrial visit immediately after the safety procedures. Mr. Sharma accompanied them throughout the visit and wherever necessary other additional executives of the company took care of us. The visit was concluded at 12.30 pm and later after the lunch at canteen a photo session was organized and concluded the visit.

The Industrial Visit opened up for trainees’ new possibilities of a technician and provided them with knowledge of Steel manufacturing process. After the industrial visit the trainees were given lunch at canteen and was followed by a photo session to mark the event. Later the trainees along with staff returned to DBVTI.

It is rightly said that “See & know’ is better than ‘read & learn’. Students have got real feel of Multi skill technician work during this visit. They got a chance to transfer their theoretical knowledge to practical implication. Indeed it was a wonderful exposure to the aspirants which gave them a space of wide knowledge and learning experience. Fr. Antree KA and trainees of Don Bosco Kuarmunda extend their gratitude to Mr. Sunil Sharma for his kind cooperation permission and support he rendered to make the visit a successful with accomplishment of objective. Trainees were very happy and were thankful to Don Bosco VTI for organizing the field trip.
