A campaign for Environment Day 2023 has been organized by Don Bosco Tech, Rangajan center at Sofelia Tea Estate, Golaghat, Assam along with 30 Mushroom Growers trainees to celebrate the World Environment Day 2023 under the theme of 'Beat Plastic Pollution '.

Mr. Francis trainer brief about the importance of World Environment Day and was first celebrated on 5 June 1973, and this year marks its 50th anniversary and will be celebrated a crossed the world.  And Côte d'Ivoire in partnership with the Netherlands is the host country for World Environment Day 2023 campaign event.

Trainees of Mushroom Grower took initiative to clean the plastics waste in the area, also passed on the message to beat plastic pollution to their neighbors and the people in their neighborhood. Trainees understood the harmful use of plastics and harm causes by pilling of plastic waste in the nature. They pledged to reduce the plastic pollution, use of reusable packaging, natural friendly bags instead of polythene bags in their group.

Trainees cleaned the area and collected the waste by segregating biodegradable and non-biodegradable wastes and disposed it in a safe area.

The day concludes with the message to minimize use of plastic at home. Trainees planted trees to mark the end of the day's event.
