"Often people ask me where I come from and what institute of Management I was trained. I proudly say that I attended three months of a training course at Don Bosco Tech Society, Muzaffarpur. Had I not joined the training program, I would be confined to the little world. Now I am very happy and my parents are very happy about my achievement. Don Bosco Tech Society has helped me and many other trainees like me who are living in extreme poverty. I thank Don Bosco Tech Society and HSBC from the bottom of my heart for giving me a great opportunity at the right time,” said Sunita Kisku.
Born in Mahhaswa a village in the Katihar district of Bihar, life was a long struggle for 23-year-old Sunita Kisku. She lives with her parents, one brother, and five sisters. The odds stacked against Sunita when she had to give up on her education after her class XII due to the poor economic conditions that existed in her family. She wanted to help her parents but with no financial support from anywhere, she found it difficult to do so.
Just when hope seemed to recede, she came to know about the free skill training program offered by Don Bosco Tech Society which was funded by HSBC for the needy and marginalized youth at Muzaffarpur center. She was convinced that joining the training will surely change her life.
She is a well-mannered, disciplined, and intelligent trainee. Despite having many problems at home, there is a thirst for knowledge within her. At times she found herself being lonely but this was just temporary as she managed to adapt and learn. She is hardworking and a quick learner. She also put more effort into learning English.
3 months of hard work and dedication during the training, paid off when she found herself at the gate of HERITAGE ELDERLY CARE in HYDERABAD. She joined as a nursing assistant with a monthly salary of INR 11000 per month with an accommodation facility. Sunita knows what it is to be necessitous. This made her a strong person. She wholeheartedly embraced and implemented what has been taught at Don Bosco Tech Asha Deep such as Teamwork, Communication, to be mindful and practical. At work, she is dedicated, patient, and sincere. She ensures that the day-to-day needs of the patients are met promptly.
She wishes to continue her work to be independent and to extend her help to her parents. She also encourages the youth to join the training provided by Don Bosco Tech for a better future.
