Genesis

Samablpur is one of the biggest city of Western Odisha, it is the commercial capital of western Odisha. People of Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Bargarh, Nuapada and Bolangiri mainly depends upon the Sambalpur for education, business and other works. The youth education and employment situation of this district is precarious, mainly the youths of belongs to lower caste community like SC / ST. Mainly the youngsters of this district are migrating to Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Raipur and other cities to do manual wage work. In the beginning itself, it was the plan of Don Bosco Tech to open one centre in Samablpur to train the youth on different domains. The negotiations started with the authority of JMJ hospital, based at Sambalpur to use their premises as one of the skill centre in for the youths. The JMJ Sisters were quite happy by getting this noble proposal from Don Bosco Tech. Since then the centre is running well with huge response from the Sambalpur and nearby villages.

Short term vocational training programs are of three months' duration, in which the students are given technical inputs prepared in consultation with industry experts and professionals. The course includes on-the-job training, assignments and field visits. Valuable life skills are also integrated into the curriculum through an interactive teaching process.
