Genesis

Located in one of Assam's emerging growth regions, the centre serves youth from economically and socially disadvantaged communities, particularly school dropouts and first-generation learners. Don Bosco Tech - Barpeta Road, Assam, was established with the vision of empowering unemployed and underprivileged youth through market-oriented skill development and employment-linked training. Rooted in the Salesian tradition of Don Bosco, the centre focuses on equipping young people with industry-relevant technical skills, life skills, digital literacy, and career guidance, enabling them to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to society.

Short term vocational training programs are of three months' duration, in which the students are given technical inputs prepared in consultation with industry experts and professionals. The course includes on-the-job training, assignments and field visits. Valuable life skills are also integrated into the curriculum through an interactive teaching process.

A Parents’ Meet was held on 21 April at Don Bosco Tech-Barpeta Road with Fr.
