Study tour to Hotel Golden Tulip
24 Jan 2020
Don Bosco Tech Society (Purnea) had been to Hotel Golden Tulip on January 24, 2020. It was a sort of brainstorming for the trainees of F&B Service Steward. To and fro journey was seen to by the domain trainer.
At first, the coordinating staff took the trainees to reception and highlighted the work shouldered by a front desk officer; check-in, check out, maintaining the GRC register, payment procedure, room tariff, and room categories, etc. Having understood well the roles of the front desk, the trainees were accompanied to the Food and Beverage department, where the staff members of the hotel shared their job roles, which include the restaurant operations, table services, table setups, food & beverages order taking process and services procedures, and explained the menu to the customers and the like.
Later, the trainees, after much-awaited, got to visit the banquet hall, where they were briefed about ways of banquet hall setup and buffet setup. After that, the next department these trainees visited was a Coffee shop. They learned that this department is operational 24x7. The staff, who worked, in the coffee shop explained the trainees about different types of coffee being served there. In the end, they were taken to the housekeeping department where trainees were demonstrated about the cleaning process. The staff showed them; room amenities and bathroom amenities. This tour, so to say, ended by bed making and cleaning process.
It was a reflection of what they have learned from the classroom. The trainees, though tired and exhausted, were happy and thanked the General Manager and the staff for allowing them to experience the Industry.
