On May 29, 2018, the Don Bosco Tech Pnar, Jowai Society hosted a Parents Meeting for the SHCDM Hospitality Program batch B4, aimed at involving parents in their children's training and future career prospects. The gathering commenced with a heartfelt prayer led by trainee Mr. Silvester Syih, followed by a warm welcome speech in Khasi by Mr. Elmiki Lynshaing. Fr. William Kujur, the esteemed Guest of Honour, underscored the pivotal role of parents in guiding their children's journey from training to placement.
Mr. Engelbert L. Badwar provided insights into the comprehensive training program, highlighting its significance in preparing future food and beverage stewards. Despite logistical challenges, 18 parents actively participated, engaging in discussions and sharing their queries and insights. The open dialogue segment facilitated an exchange of ideas between parents and trainees, nurturing a sense of community and collaboration.
The event concluded with gratitude extended to attending parents and encouragement for absentees to remain engaged. In his closing remarks, Mr. Charemi Laloo reiterated the center's open-door policy for parental involvement and support.
During the open house session, pertinent questions regarding facilities, working hours, and safety concerns were addressed by Mr. Engelbert L. Badwar, offering reassurance to parents about their children's welfare during training and placement.
