Short term vocational training programs are of three months' duration, in which the students are given technical inputs prepared in consultation with industry experts and professionals. The course includes on-the-job training, assignments and field visits. Valuable life skills are also integrated into the curriculum through an interactive teaching process.
As we are living in the new normal, the center’s motive was to engage the students in showcasing their talents. The purpose is to make the students active and to make them interested and attentive during online sessions with the curiosity as to what comes next. In order to do so, an art activity was organized for the students where they could participate and explore their hidden talent, hence every Saturday in the month of October, the students were given a topic to draw. NIRME had organized an awareness program which was much needed for our youth to understand the effect of using or consuming tobacco. Our program was held on the 23rd of January 2020 in the Conference Hall around 3:00 pm. Our guest for the program was Sr. Antiona FC who have a mission to prevent tobacco use as the saying goes ‘’ Prevention is better than cure’’. The new beginning of trainees, with lots of energy, the trainers started the new batch to mold, to shape as they need to fit the industry requirement. The induction program not only was informative but helped boost their confidence level. Don Bosco Tech Society, Gayaganga inducted these trainees from January 7-14, 2020. The sessions were taken by the trainers Ms. Diksha Sintury, Ms. Anamika Bose, and Mr. G.B Gurung. With a mission to train and place unemployed youth the team of Gayaganga center ventured into the villages bringing awareness about the Don Bosco Tech Society and its free skill training program. The staff of this center went about strategically followed door to door campaign. They did not hesitate to visit even the remote villages, government schools circulating leaflets, and pasting it in the market places.
