On 21, October 2020, Mr. Raldy Hospitality Trainer of Maligaon Centre conducted a guest lecture for students of Batch 2 under ITC East 2020-21. Ms. Deiti Shanpru was the guest for the lecture for Housekeeping manual cleaning attendant domain.

Ms. Deiti completed her Bachelors in Hotel Management at Calcutta and is currently working as a Reservation officer at Smokey falls, Tyrna, Meghalaya. She was very happy to give her time educating the underprivileged youth for an hour. She says that the students are lucky to get the opportunity to build their careers in the hotel Industry.

Ms. Deiti shares that the housekeeping department aims to provide guest with clean, attractive and comfortable surroundings and also helps the guest feel welcomed.

She continues that all hotels depend on the sales of rooms as part of the hotel's profit, a room can be sold again and again if the rooms are clean and comfortable that is why the housekeeping department is called the backbone of the hotel industry.

Ms. Deiti shares some points that the students should always remember. The housekeeping department is directly linked to sales of rooms and the Responsibility of the housekeeping department are:

•              To ensure guest rooms are clean and comfortable.

•              To establish a welcoming atmosphere for their guest.

•              To provide clean linens to guest rooms, restaurants banquet halls, health clubs and conferences rooms, public areas and back-office areas.

•              To provide clean uniform to all staff members

Lots of interaction took place between the students and Ms. Deiti. The students were greatly enlightened with the knowledge that Ms. Deity shared. The session ended with a thunderous clap.
