A Dream Come True!!!
The Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment (MOODLE), a long-awaited dream conceived in the heart and mind of the employee of Don Bosco Tech Society, has now finally come to its reality. The organization aims to give birth to this dream with the proactive collaboration of Don Bosco College, Sultan Bathery, facilitating Training of Trainers (ToT). A seven-day training of trainers, organized from June 15-23, 2021, was certainly bane for our trainers. As MOODLE in itself is meaningful, it would certainly remain iconic as it’s handy and user-friendly. Around 40 State Team Members and Trainers across the country participated in the learning forum.
MOODLE, a user-friendly learning management system, gives teaching-learning aid to the learners in the nook and corner of the world. As of date, it has more than 1,00,000 registered users and 150 million learners. Martin Dougiamas (Developer) launched this to help educators create an online module with focused interactive learning. He launched the first MOODLE on August 20, 2002.
During the training, the topics covered were basics of profile set up, how to enter course plan, enrolment of the students, group creation, Grade Categories, Attendance, Embedded resources and activities, how to give assignments, validation, the extension of timeline for a single student, downloading grades, managing Quiz, creation of question bank and glossary, adding games, completion of the progress bar, use of calendar, design and generate certificates, manage badges, big blue button, among other things.
The trainers, in particular, will find it interesting as it sums up our pedagogy; right from scheduling lesson plans to certification and badges. The activities and resources on the dashboard will ignite the heart and the mind of participants. On the whole, the MOODLE is a boon to Don Bosco Tech Society.
