On March 8, 2022, Don Bosco Tech, Mirpara Centre orchestrated a vibrant celebration in honor of International Women's Day, welcoming both Accenture-11, Batch-10 & 11 trainees and Don Bosco SERI students.
Commencing at 10:30 am in the institute's auditorium, the event commenced with great enthusiasm. The esteemed presence of Maj. Ebin P. Thomas graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, with Mr. Adhikary, a Tool & Die trainer, steering as the program's host. The inauguration began with a prayer dance performed by Beautician & Tailoring students, followed by a warm welcome address by Fr. Jaison, the Centre Head, extending greetings to our Chief Guest, Maj. Ebin. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed, where select students and female trainers illuminated the room, culminating in a bouquet presentation to the Chief Guest.
A lively group dance by Civil Engineering students and a melodious song rendition by Mr. Adhikary & Mr. Sarkar dedicated to the women present set the tone for the celebration. Maj. Ebin P. Thomas then shared inspiring words with the female trainees, urging them to stride ahead in life. He touched upon various topics including defense, strategies to crack the UPSC exam, and avenues for joining the National Defence Academy post-Higher Secondary education.
The culmination of his motivational speech saw the distribution of certificates to Beautician students and a memento presented to the Chief Guest. A joyful photo session ensued, capturing memories with the esteemed guest, who then departed for his commitments.
The festivities continued with engaging activities led by the Don Bosco Tech team. Students were invited to share their hypothetical occupations if they were of the opposite gender, eliciting insightful responses. For instance, a female student expressed a desire to be a farmer, while a male student envisioned himself as a politician, citing the adeptness of women in managing personal and professional affairs.
Following this engaging dialogue, Mr. Souvik led a session on Gender Sensitization, fostering understanding and inclusivity among the attendees. The program further showcased the success stories of female students, highlighting their resilience and achievements amidst challenges.
The event culminated with a poignant video presentation by Mr. Biswajit, the Housekeeping Executive trainer, showcasing the journey and accomplishments of our female trainees and trainers. In closing, Ms. Juliana extended heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of this impactful celebration.
Overall, the International Women's Day celebration proved to be a jubilant and empowering affair, inspiring all attendees to embrace equality and strive for excellence in their endeavors.
