Genesis

Ashalaya Trust was established to render social developmental programmes for the marginalized which started through home visits in 1996 and later in a rented room where children of the quarry workers were given training. On July 14, 2001, Ashalaya started its work as an organized social service unit of Katherine Kasper Social Service Society. In 2009, Ashalaya got registered as an independent trust. In 2010, Ashalaya joined DB Tech as a partner to empower the unemployed youth of the locality through skills and employment opportunities.

Short term vocational training programs are of three months' duration, in which the students are given technical inputs prepared in consultation with industry experts and professionals. The course includes on-the-job training, assignments and field visits. Valuable life skills are also integrated into the curriculum through an interactive teaching process.

3rd Vaccination Drive At Don Bosco Tech-Ashalaya

On 20 October 2021, Don Bosco Tech-Ashalaya conducted a third vaccination drive at the centre with the help and coordination of Sr. Bindu PHJC (Director of the Ashalaya Trust), and the nearby health centre workers. Bettahalsur Government hospital coordinated with the Ashalaya trust in procuring the vaccines. The drive started at 9:30 am with the initial registration and provided the first and second dose for 230 people.
