On November 14th, 2024, Don Bosco Tech Society participated in a multi-stakeholder consultation hosted by the Government of Mizoram and the UNDP. The event, titled "Leveraging CSOs Expertise for Accelerating SDGs in Mizoram", brought together civil society organizations (CSOs) and government officials to discuss strategies for aligning CSO initiatives with Mizoram's sustainable development priorities.

The consultation began with an overview of Mizoram's current progress and gaps in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Senior Mizoram government officials, including the Adviser to the Chief Minister and Chairman of the CSR Cell, TBC Lalvenchhunga, outlined key development focus areas where CSO engagement could have significant impact.

During the event, Don Bosco Tech had the opportunity to present its ongoing initiatives and explore possibilities for collaboration with the state government. The discussions centered around ensuring better alignment between CSO activities and Mizoram's SDG roadmap to maximize development outcomes.

"This consultation provided valuable insights into Mizoram's development landscape and priorities," said Fr. George Mathew, Executive Director of Don Bosco Tech. "We are excited about the prospect of partnering with the state government to contribute towards its sustainable growth agenda."The consultation also served as a platform for networking and building strategic alliances between the CSOs and government officials. Participants discussed innovative approaches, such as Social Impact Bonds, that could drive systemic change in Mizoram.

Moving forward, Don Bosco Tech aims to actively engage with the Government of Mizoram to identify high-impact project opportunities that align with the state's SDG priorities. By fostering this collaboration, the organization hopes to amplify its contribution to Mizoram's sustainable development journey.
