Mental Health Awareness Activity: Wall of Positivity – "You Matter
13 Jul 2026
As part of the World Youth Skills Day 2026 celebrations and the Mental Health Awareness Initiative, Don Bosco Tech – Cox Colony Centre, Jharsuguda organized an interactive classroom activity titled "Wall of Positivity – You Matter" on 13th July 2026. The activity aimed to promote mental well-being, encourage positive thinking, build self-confidence, and create a supportive learning environment through kindness and appreciation.
The session began with an interactive discussion led by the trainer on the importance of mental health and how positive words and supportive relationships contribute to emotional well-being. Trainees learned that mental health is as important as physical health and that small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in someone's life.
A colourful "Wall of Positivity" was created in the classroom with the theme "You Matter." Decorated with smiley faces, stars, hearts, and bright colours, the display served as a reminder that every individual is valued and deserves encouragement and respect.
Each trainee received sticky notes and was encouraged to write positive messages, words of appreciation, or encouraging quotes for their classmates. The wall soon filled with heartfelt messages such as "Believe in Yourself," "Keep Smiling," "Never Give Up," "You Inspire Others," "Keep Shining," and "Your Future is Bright." These thoughtful messages reflected the trainees' appreciation for one another and reinforced the values of empathy, encouragement, and mutual respect.
After placing their notes on the wall, trainees read the messages and shared their reflections. The activity created an atmosphere of positivity, motivation, and emotional support, helping participants recognize the power of kind words in boosting confidence and strengthening relationships. During the reflection session, trainees also discussed simple ways to maintain good mental health, such as practising gratitude, speaking kindly, supporting friends, and seeking help whenever needed.
The programme concluded with a Mental Health Pledge, where all participants committed to caring for their own mental well-being, encouraging others, communicating with kindness, respecting everyone's feelings, and creating a positive and inclusive environment.
The "Wall of Positivity – You Matter" activity was highly engaging and well received by the trainees. It successfully promoted mental health awareness while strengthening self-confidence, teamwork, empathy, and positive communication. By encouraging trainees to appreciate and uplift one another, the activity reinforced that emotional well-being, kindness, and supportive relationships are essential life skills that contribute to both personal growth and professional success.
