Introduction
Don Bosco Tech Society, Cox Colony, Jharsuguda, Odisha, celebrated World Youth Skills Day 2026 with great enthusiasm. The programme was attended by trainees, the Centre Head, trainers, and staff members. The celebration aimed to encourage young people to understand the importance of continuous learning, skill development, discipline, and career planning. The main activity of the programme was the "Goal Ladder Activity" with the theme "Step by Step Towards Success."
Objectives
The programme was organized to:
- Encourage trainees to set realistic career goals.
- Help them understand that success comes through continuous learning and skill development.
- Motivate trainees to take one practical step towards achieving their dreams.
Programme Highlights
The programme began with a warm welcome to all participants. The Centre Head addressed the trainees and spoke about the importance of World Youth Skills Day. The trainees were encouraged to keep learning new skills and remain disciplined and focused on their future careers.
A large Goal Ladder was displayed in the training hall. It showed the journey from "Today" at the bottom to "My Dream Career" at the top. The steps included:

- Step 5 – Achieve My Goal
The trainer explained that every successful person starts with small steps and reaches success through hard work and continuous learning.
Goal Ladder Activity
Each trainee received a sticky note and was asked to answer two questions:
- What is my dream?
- What is one action I can take today to achieve my dream?
The trainees wrote their commitments, such as:
- I will improve my communication skills.
- I will practice every day.
- I will be punctual.
- I will improve my English.
- I will learn new skills.
- I will read every day.
- I will complete my assignments on time.
- I will speak confidently.
- I will stay positive.
- I will believe in myself.
One by one, the trainees came forward, shared their commitment, and placed their sticky notes on the first step of the Goal Ladder. Everyone appreciated and encouraged each participant.
Interactive Discussion
An interactive discussion was held after the activity. The trainees shared:
- Why they chose their commitment.
- How it would help them achieve their career goals.
- The challenges they might face.
- The importance of support from trainers, teachers, family members, and friends.
