Exposure Visit to a Sub-Station - Assistant Electrical

Clara Niketan Centre organized a field visit to the Sub-station at Khajuri Sadak for Assistant Electrician Domain on Monday, January 27, 2020. Thirteen trainees and a Trainer Mr.Bhagvat Singh visited the station.
Mr. Mithalesh Kumar (Substation operator) gave a brief description of the step-down transformer and CT and PT transformer. How to work on the feeder, bus bar, every pole use earth for safety and protection, how to on-off light or discharge the same. He explained about a transformer that a transformer is a static device that transfers electrical energy from one circuit to another. It is most commonly used to increase or decrease voltage levels.
Trainees got information on how a work of sub-station is operated. Substations are the part of a power system in which the voltage is transformed from high to low or low too high for transmission, distribution, transformation, and switching
He informed about health and safety to the trainees how one needs to always use Helmets and gloves while one is at work. He has explained part of transformer overcurrent relay, Earth Relay, Overload fuse Buchol’s Relay, Breather functions, conservator, Temperature gauge or explosion vent, etc.
In the afternoon trainees were divided 4 into groups for the visit to see what transformer work is and with an open interaction who are already working. The Sub-station operator Mr. Mithalesh Kumar conducted a very informative session for the trainees. Also, he motivated the trainees to select their area of interest. The overall field visit was successful.
