The center team at Don Bosco Tech (Janbazpora) celebrated World Youth Skills Day on July 15, 2019. The aim of this celebration was to advocate for skills as an important factor to improve young people’s transitions to decent work and to highlight the crucial role of skilled youth in addressing today’s most challenging global issues.

Mr. Muzafar Maqbool (Center Coordinator, Don Bosco Tech, Janbazpora) started the event by acquainting the trainees about the importance of World Youth Skills Day which day emphasizes the importance of technical and vocational education and training, in providing youth with the opportunities to develop their competencies. He also mentioned about Don Bosco Tech in his speech which is playing a pivotal role in skilling the youth of India by providing skill training in Hospitality, CRM, ITeS, and Retail domains.

The program progressed with the speeches and presentations by trainees on various topics like the importance of self-sufficiency, time management, the importance of basic communication skills, and the role of computers in today’s world.

An artful skit was performed by trainees on the topic, “Why women should work?”, with some inspiring messages like a successful working woman who balances her professional life and family with much aplomb has a great impact on her offspring; financial independence is one of the most liberating aspects that a woman needs to lead a quality life with respect.

Competitions like singing and dancing were also organized to make the day more fun. It was astonishing to see the most diffident trainees coming up and showing their talents.

Trainees and Trainees express gratitude towards Don Bosco Tech organization for giving the opportunity to add meaning to the lives of the youth of our country and preparing them for a better tomorrow.
