As the lockdown continues, so does pandemic, people were started to thinking “are we really free”? To solve this confusion, we the team Don Bosco Barasat arranged a Digital Celebration in the wake of Independence Day. Not to exaggerate, but our confidence in performing a digital celebration skyrocketed after we performed Inauguration online. So on the most remarkable date i.e. 15th Aug, 2020 we celebrated 74th Independence day in our Don bosco Barasat’s online classroom.

Centre-In charge sister Sherley along with Sr. Mary decorated the Hall room and put a beautiful Indian Flag in the background to make it look good. She herself was holding a miniature flag as she was excited to conduct this celebration. Students were also very enthusiastic and they already sorted their performances. After a brief introduction to this occasion one of our student, Miss Sheetal Ghosh, who happened to be an NCC Cadet, delivered a speech about the history of Independence and journey of a soldier. She was wearing NCC uniform so she was emitting a very soldier like vibe and her speech and posture of salute took us to the night of 1947’s memorial day. Then many patriotic dance and singing performance Sr. Sherley shared her thought about independence. She asked everyone to utilize the freedom their forefathers earned through blood and agony and sacrifices. She said may be we are feeling caged due to this pandemic but let’s take oath on this day that we must not let go the opportunity we got and the values and importance of actual things in this pandemic.

Many parents were also present and took part of this beautiful celebration. Overall the day well spent and being a holiday student proactively invested their time for this celebration showed their determination as well. The celebration concluded with a loud cheer of “HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY”.
