Phase11-B7 Guest Lecture 1 in Dialysis technician

On May 21st, 2021 Don Bosco Tech Guntur center conducted a virtual guest lecture for the Dialysis technician. Sr. Clara was the recourse person to empower the trainees with her effective skills in the dialysis department. She has studied MSC Nursing and had a great experience in that particular field.
She spoke about the important organs in our body and deeply discussed KIDNEYS and its components, explained how it works and how the Kidney helps a person healthy and it’s working cycle. She also explained the roles and responsibilities of a Dialysis Technician, discussed a few important points on dialysis technicians as follow:
- The maintenance of dialysis types of equipment.
- The processing of the dialyzer.
- Preparing the patient for the dialysis treatment process Sanitizing and cleaning the machine when the treatment is taken place.
- Sanitizing and cleaning the surrounding area before and after the dialysis treatment takes place so that the patient does not get infected.
- Monitoring the water treatment.
Next, she spoke on bio-medical management, explained the important points to follow in the Biological lab and biomedical waste management in the laboratory, and the segregation of the waste in the laboratory. The role of a dialysis technician is to arrange every piece of equipment ready to use for the treatment of dialysis and to arrange the color-coding bins and keep Safe disposal of chemical waste in the Dialysis Lab.
She displayed necessary equipment everything and explained its functions through online session. Trainees had a great practical session to gain practical knowledge about the work area and responsibilities of Dialysis Technician. Trainees were very happy about the guest lecture and enhanced with new knowledge.
