Don Bosco Tech, Golaghat conducted the occasion of Environment Day on Friday, 05 June 2021.  Electrician Domestic Solution trainees under the Accenture project commemorated the Day by planting trees.

Trainees were oriented on climate change and global warming by Mr. Prem Sagar (support domain trainer). He shared about the role of each individual’s responsibility of taking care of our planet and the ecosystem. And how to prevent its further damage by taking preventive measures like planting trees, proper waste management of segregating biodegradable and non-degradable waste, To avoid the use of plastics, and opting for an eco-friendly product that will benefit our health. He also instructed trainees to take care of it and nurture the trees they planted. He said “Trees are human’s best friend. It gives shelter, food, and gives us clean air to breathe.”

Mr. Prem also shared a good living example of Mr. Jadav Payang of Assam, who is known as the ‘The Forest Man in India’. He spent his 30 years of planting trees. He planted 40 million trees to create a real man-made forest on the barren sandbar of the Brahmaputra River in the Jorhat district of Assam. He is a well-known worldwide figure in the conservation of forests and was honored with Padma Shri Award in 2015.

Prem Sagar ended the session with advice to trainees to protect the environment in every small way to live a better and healthy life.
