Golaghat trainees learning the do’s and don’ts of ATM
19 Sep 2019
It is a must-knowing to use an ATM card safely. There is no exception for our trainees too as these trainees will be going out for the placement and will start earning.
Don Bosco Tech Society ensures among our trainees to safeguard their hard-earned money by letting them know the dos and don’ts of ATM. Keeping this view in mind 17 hospitality trainees of Golaghat, Assam set out to State Bank ATM of Santipur Chariali, Golaghat on September 19, 2020.
On arrival, the hospitality trainer explained to them the basics of debit cards and their advantages and disadvantages. While talking about the PIN code the trainer informed them to keep it secret and not let anyone know. “Sharing of PIN code may be very risky,” said the trainer. The trainees were also informed about what they should do when the ATM card is lost saying they need to block the same by dialing the toll-free number given by the bank. And then file an FIR at the nearest police station as soon as possible. After having explained the pros and cons of using a debit card and the utilities of ATM the trainer took the trainees inside the ATM in groups five and showed them the ways to check the balance and withdraw cash.
It is one of the kind for those trainees who come from far off villages where there are no such facilities or have not used even once as on date. Especially, these trainees were very happy to have visited the ATM and to learn their uses. They seemed to be confident now having learned to use the debit card. As a result they need not seek help from others to withdraw money.
The trainees thanked the trainer for his patience to explain and make them understand the right ways to use the debit card in ATMs.
