The Inauguration Programme for the Housekeeping Trainee Batch 1 was held on May 31, 2024, at Don Bosco Tech Mawkasiang, under the aegis of the Nirmali Society of Christ Jesus in collaboration with Skills Meghalaya. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Mr. Mathew Kharpran, Sub-Divisional Officer, Brother Barnabas Khyriem, Assistant Director of Don Bosco Skill Mission, Bengaluru, Sr. Sicilia, and Miss Rhiedolcy Diengdoh, Placement Officer, with 29 enthusiastic students in attendance.

The programme commenced with Miss Dawiat Rynjah, the dedicated trainer of housekeeping, serving as the host. A warm welcome speech was delivered by Mr. Mebankyrshan L. Mawphlang, a trainee who represented his peers. The atmosphere was enlivened by a heartfelt song performed by the trainees, setting a positive tone for the event.

Brother Barnabas then delivered a compelling motivational speech, emphasizing the significance of nurturing relationships, particularly with God, and encouraged the trainees to maintain faith in both divine providence and their abilities. His words resonated deeply, inspiring the trainees to pursue their aspirations with confidence.

Following this, Mr. Mathew Kharpran, the SDO, provided insightful guidance on the placement opportunities awaiting the trainees. He highlighted the crucial role of hard work and the acquisition of specialized skills in securing a prosperous and dignified future. His address underscored the transformative power of dedication and perseverance.

Sr. Sicilia, representing Sister Remo, the Head of Nirmali Society Mawkasiang, shared valuable insights into the work culture and placement initiatives, emphasizing the government's commitment to empowering underprivileged families. Her message reinforced the importance of self-reliance and the opportunities available to the trainees.

Miss Rhiedolcy Diengdoh further motivated the trainees by recounting the success stories of past pupils from Don Bosco Tech. She urged the students to remain steadfast in their pursuit of independence and excellence, despite the challenges inherent in the hospitality industry.

The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks from the Placement Officer, expressing gratitude to all participants and speakers.
