On the flavorful Saturday of May 8th 2021, our trainees embarked on a culinary adventure that not only tantalized taste buds but also nurtured their teamwork and creativity. The stage was set for a gastronomic showdown, with the entire batch divided into three groups, each poised to showcase their culinary prowess in a food feast competition.

Inspired by the artistry of food sequences, our teams drew lots to determine their culinary destiny: starters, main courses, or desserts. With a budget of 300 rupees per group, they embarked on a mission to create dishes that would not only impress but also satiate.

The preparations were meticulous, with a day prior dedicated to scouting the perfect cooking spot and arranging the necessary firewood and equipment. From gathering ingredients to setting up the cooking area, every detail was attended to by the eager participants.

As the clock struck 10 am, the aroma of culinary delights filled the air as teams dove into their creations. From crispy French fries and delectable pakoras with vegetable soup to fragrant vegetable fry rice with gravy, and finally, the sweet indulgence of malpowa and sahi tukda, the menu was a symphony of flavors.

With the judging criteria encompassing garnishing, serving, and, of course, taste, the stakes were high. The esteemed Sisters of Nirmal Sadan graciously lent their expertise as judges, meticulously evaluating each dish.

Amidst a beautifully decorated table in the open expanse, the competition reached its climax as the scores were tallied. In a delightful twist, it was the group responsible for the starters that emerged victorious, their culinary finesse earning them the coveted first prize.

But the true victory lay in the camaraderie fostered and the skills honed throughout the competition. As the entire campus gathered to witness the spectacle, the spirit of community and shared love for food enveloped the atmosphere.

In a heartwarming finale, the trainees came together to prepare a comforting serving of khichidi for all, showcasing not only their culinary talent but also their generosity of spirit.
