Exposure visit of Hospitality Domain HSBC Batch-6
27 Nov 2019
Industrial visit/ field visit is inevitable for a student who is pursuing a professional course. It is considered as a part of the curriculum. The objective of such a visit is to provide students an insight regarding the internal working of companies. We acquire theoretical knowledge from the class which is not enough to be a professional. With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit provides student a practical perspective on the world of work.
With the above-stated view in mind exposure visit to The Royal Phular (Muzaffarpur) was organized on November 27, 2019, for Food and Beverages (F&B) trainees of Don Bosco Tech (Muzaffarpur) to acquint themselves about the hotel industry.
On the arrival of the event venue, Mr. Saurav (Human Resource) gave trainees a warm welcome and commended on the initiative for widening their knowledge with this visit. He spent a moment with the trainees explaining the working structure of the hotel industry before taking them in and around the hotel premises.
During the meeting, Mr. Saurav gave a short lecture on the following points:
- Duties and responsibilities of the staff members.
- Various parts of the Hotel.
- Bed making procedure and
- Table setup.
Trainees were fortunate enough to have seen in their own eyes all the modern amenities available in the hotel. He showed a different department of the hotel like restaurant, kitchen and banquet hall as well as rooms.
They got to visit the varied nature of the rooms. These trainees were delighted to see the general room, suite room, deluxe room, etc. Not only these but learned about room service. They visited the kitchen which left them awestruck with the sophisticated amenities. Their visit would not have been complete had they not visited the restaurant, banquet, kitchen and rooms.
All the trainees were excited to see things they learned from books or in a practical session. Mr. Kaushik kumar (Trainer-Hospitality) accompanied the trainees at every minute of their visit. Thus this exposure visit seemed to have enhanced the knowledge of the students. Trainees were glad to hear about the job offer on completion of their training. Trainees also shortly interacted with the other employees of the Hotel. Trainees felt very happy and gave assurance of using the garnered knowledge in the future.
