A Parents’ Meeting was held on 18th October 2025 under the Skills Meghalaya Project for the Housekeeping Attendant job role at Bosco Integrated Development Society,Nongthymmai Shillong organized by Don Bosco Tech Society. The session aimed to strengthen the bond of communication between parents, students, and trainers, and to provide insights into the training program and its future opportunities. The attendees are Fr. Father James Thyrniang, Executive Director of Bosco Integrated Development Society (BIDS), Rhiedolcy Diengdoh, Wallambok Kharbihkhiew, Trainers along with 10 trainees and their parents.

The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Miss Brenda Syiem, Domain Trainer, who warmly acknowledged the presence of parents and appreciated their continuous encouragement and support for their children’s skill development journey.

This was followed by an address from Rev. Father James Thyrniang, Executive Director of Bosco Integrated Development Society (BIDS). In his speech, Father James extended a cordial welcome to the Don Bosco Tech staff and the attendees. He spoke about the Housekeeping trade and also introduced the variety of training program offered at BIDS, including Multi-Cuisine and Barbeque & Nati Cuisine. He highlighted that the centre, established a decade ago, has successfully trained and placed many students over the years.

Mr. Wallambok Kharbihkhiew, Senior Executive (MIS), addressed the gathering. He welcomed Father James and all present, providing a detailed overview of the Skills Meghalaya Project and its funding partner, Meghalaya State Skill Development Society (MSSDS). He also shared the mission and vision of Don Bosco Tech Society, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to empowering youth through skills and values. Mr. Wallambok noted that while job opportunities may often lie outside the state, dedication, and determination can pave the way for success. He concluded his speech with the motivational line, “Where there is a way, there is money.”

The meeting concluded with a motivational address by Miss Rhiedolcy Diengdoh, Placement Coordinator of Don Bosco Tech Society. She stressed the importance of regular attendance, discipline, and active participation during training. She encouraged students to ask questions, engage with trainers, and uphold respect for themselves and others. Miss Rhiedolcy further highlighted that effective communication is key to personal and professional growth, urging trainees to stay humble and committed to their goals. She concluded with an inspiring quote: “Don’t be proud, stay humble and committed.”

The meeting fostered a positive and collaborative spirit among parents, trainers, and students, reaffirming Don Bosco Tech Society’s mission to nurture skilled, confident, and value-driven youth.
