Don Bosco Tech Monsada hosted an enthralling Storytelling Competition on 10th October 2025 at the centre’s Hallroom, aimed at nurturing communication, imagination, and self-expression among its trainees. The event was part of the centre’s ongoing initiative to enhance confidence, creativity, and public-speaking skills through dynamic and interactive activities.

A total of 50 enthusiastic trainees from various batches participated, creating an atmosphere brimming with curiosity and excitement. Each participant captivated the audience with diverse stories, ranging from moral tales and historical legends to inspiring real-life experiences and traditional folk narratives. Through expressive voice modulation, gestures, and facial expressions, the students brought their stories to life, leaving both the judges and the audience deeply engaged.

The competition began with a brief welcome address encouraging trainees to embrace storytelling as a tool for improving language skills, imagination, and emotional intelligence. The performances were evaluated by experienced trainers who assessed each participant on originality, fluency, pronunciation, expression, confidence, and the ability to connect with the audience.

Applause and appreciation resonated throughout the hall, creating a lively and supportive environment. Many of the stories carried meaningful messages and motivational themes, reflecting the participants’ thoughtfulness and creativity. The judges commended the trainees for their preparation and confidence, noting the impressive growth in communication skills across the group.

The event concluded with the announcement of winners: Sovan Goswami received the first prize, Pritam Mondal the second, and Priya Baidya the third, in recognition of their exceptional storytelling abilities. In his closing remarks, the Parish Priest, Fr. Peter Gomes, congratulated all participants and expressed appreciation for the trainers’ guidance. He highlighted how storytelling not only hones language and communication skills but also fosters imagination, empathy, and leadership—qualities essential for both personal and professional growth.

The competition ended with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Prokash Halder, who acknowledged the enthusiasm, effort, and creativity of all the trainees. The event proved to be an inspiring and enriching experience, motivating participants to continue expressing their thoughts creatively and confidently in the future.
