04 Sep 2025
On 04.09.2025, the students of Batch 3 (250286), Kitchen Trainee group from Don Bosco Tech Society, embarked on an immersive industrial visit to Chocolate Inn, a renowned hotel in Kalyani known for its warm hospitality and well-structured management practices. The visit aimed to provide students with real-time exposure to the inner workings of the hotel industry—ranging from kitchen operations to room management and guest service protocols.
From the moment the students arrived, they were greeted with hospitality that set the tone for the entire experience. The Hotel Manager welcomed the group and offered an insightful overview of the hotel’s service framework. He explained how different departments—front office, housekeeping, kitchen, and guest relations—work like interconnected cogs in a well-oiled machine to ensure seamless service and memorable guest experiences.
The heart of the visit was the exploration of the hotel’s kitchen. Students were escorted into the main kitchen, where they witnessed the disciplined rhythm of culinary professionals at work. They observed how chefs followed systematic procedures, upheld hygiene standards, and coordinated across various sections including the preparation area, cooking zone, bakery unit, and dishwashing section. The emphasis on food safety, temperature control, and efficient storage made the students appreciate the level of precision required in a professional kitchen, especially during peak service hours.
The tour extended to the accommodation segment of the hotel, where students explored an array of room categories such as Single Rooms, Double Rooms, Deluxe Rooms, Executive Rooms, Suites, and Family Rooms. The Hotel Manager explained the distinct purpose and pricing of each category, highlighting how room types cater to different guest profiles. Students also gained valuable insight into housekeeping operations—how rooms are cleaned, maintained, and inspected to ensure comfort, safety, and aesthetic appeal for every guest.
One of the most enriching aspects of the visit was the interaction between students and the hotel staff. The trainees asked thoughtful questions about hotel management, customer relations, safety measures, kitchen workflow, and room allocation processes. The staff responded with clarity and enthusiasm, offering real-world examples that deepened the students’ understanding of the hospitality sector.
Overall, the industrial visit to Chocolate Inn proved to be an eye-opening and inspiring experience. It transformed classroom learning into lively, practical exposure and allowed students to witness firsthand the dedication, teamwork, and professionalism that define the hospitality industry. The visit not only broadened their knowledge but also strengthened their motivation to pursue excellence in their training and future careers under the guidance of Don Bosco Tech Society.
