First time to Decathlon by the Sales Associate trainees

Don Bosco Tech Society (Lingarajpuram, Bangalore) organized its first industrial visit for the trainees of the Sales Associate domain on March 6, 2020, with the able guidance and support of Fr. Rubin (Director, DB-Best Academy). Mrs. Lesilen Jose (Trainer, Retail Sales) along with 20 trainees visited Decathlon located at Brigade Road, Bangalore.
The sole motives of the visit were to learn the importance of the Retail industry and its job significance in this current world. And also to understand the concept of retail as one of the fastest-growing industries and its required skills an employee needs to possess.
Keeping the above motives in mind, the trainees set sail to Decathlon. On arrival, Ms. Sneha Kumar (CRM, Project Leader, Decathlon) and her team welcomed the trainees with open arms. Ms. Lesilen briefed the stakeholders about Don Bosco Tech’s mission, with a special mention to Lingarajpuram. Later Ms. Sneha Kumar started an interactive session with a multimedia presentation about Decathlon. She touched upon Decathlon’s activities, its history, administrative structure, plan, vision, mission, intervention, social service activities, etc. She also explained about the Decathlon’s future?
During the interaction with the trainees, Ms. Sneha explained the strategies to maximize sales, manner of welcoming customers and how to scale up the firm’s profit. Thus, she drew a vivid line between retail and marketing, as she came to the closure of the presentation. Thereafter, the trainees were divided into four teams of 10 members each. They then prepared themselves and entered into such a large retail store. Amazed at the huge infrastructure and large varieties of amazing commodities available for the buyers. The staff, of various sections, were seen enticing the visitors not to go away without buying by dint of their hard work and sheer dedication. The trainees of Don Bosco Tech enjoyed sporting while studied the store thoroughly. The doubts raised by the trainees to which Ms. Sneha cleared, one after the other.
Trainees were happy with the visits. At the end of the trip, they were clear about Decathlon which is one of the premier retail industries in Karnataka. They are thankful for Decathlon and its team for giving such a great opportunity to visit the beautiful and elegant premises. It was such an informative event for the trainees to get to know about various aspects of retail management. The visit ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Shiva (Trainee, Sales Associate).
