31 aspirants were inducted into training at the Don Bosco Tech, Sulthan Bathery center on October 7, 2019. These trainees underwent a week of activity-based training.
Induction kick-started on October 7. Apart from the ice-breaking sessions and life-skills classes, they also had some classes by Fr. Benny and Bro. Philip. There were also interactive sessions with the trainees and parents of the alumni. To make the session lively there were a lot of ice-breaking sessions during the 6-day induction. The trainees were shown videos related to job roles and sectors. Screening videos related to the life of Don Bosco added to the fervor of the training. Student Diaries’ were distributed to all the trainees. The trainees filled out their interest inventory forms too. The trainees were also taken around the campus to get familiarized with the campus and facilities. Activities on teamwork, time management, etc. were also introduced.
Domain-specific classes commenced on October 14, 2019. The enrollment dates were stretched a few days more for trainees’ who had registered but did not join. Thus the admissions were finalized by October 18 only.
As a whole, it was a fruitful program. Through the program, the trainees’ got a clearer picture of training and placements. During the group discussion session conducted on the 5th day, the students asked a bundle of questions that were clarified. It was amazing to soo how confident these trainees looked in their approach. It was the result of a successful training program.
