At Don Bosco Tech, education is not limited to imparting technical skills alone; it is equally about preparing young people to step into the professional world with confidence and competence. Keeping this vision in focus, Don Bosco Tech Kalaburagi organized a Mock Interview Session on 6th August 2025 for trainees from the IT-CRM and Digital Mitra programs. The initiative was designed to create a bridge between classroom learning and real-world employability.

Purpose of the Session

Job interviews are often the most challenging step for fresh candidates, as they demand not only subject knowledge but also communication, confidence, and presence of mind. The session aimed to provide trainees with an opportunity to experience a professional interview environment, reduce anxiety, build self-assurance, and receive constructive feedback to refine their skills.

Structure of the Event

The session was facilitated by trainers and external HR professionals, who conducted the interviews in a formal, corporate-style setting. Each trainee underwent three carefully planned rounds:

  1. Personal Introduction & HR Round – Candidates introduced themselves and answered questions that tested their communication skills, clarity of thought, and confidence.

  2. Technical Round – IT-CRM trainees were assessed on CRM tools, IT fundamentals, and customer service situations, while Digital Mitra trainees answered questions on digital marketing, social media management, and content creation.

  3. Feedback & Evaluation Round – Interviewers shared immediate feedback on aspects such as resume presentation, body language, voice modulation, and subject knowledge. Individual scorecards and practical tips were provided for further improvement.

Highlights

Over forty trainees actively participated in the session, many of them experiencing a formal interview setting for the first time. Trainers observed a remarkable improvement in communication and interview etiquette compared to earlier assessments. The realistic setup, combined with personalized feedback, gave candidates a clear understanding of their strengths and areas requiring attention.

Outcome and Impact

The mock interviews proved to be a valuable exercise in building confidence and preparing trainees for upcoming placement opportunities. Beyond technical knowledge, the participants discovered the importance of preparation, punctuality, and professional presence. The session helped them overcome interview-related fear and equipped them with the confidence to face employers with assurance.

Conclusion

The Mock Interview Session at DB Tech Kalaburagi was not merely a practice exercise but an important milestone in the professional journey of the trainees. It reflected the institution’s commitment to holistic skill development by ensuring that students are not only technically skilled but also industry-ready. Initiatives such as these continue to empower trainees to step into their careers with knowledge, confidence, and the ability to succeed.
