To proclaim the greatness and importance of a Woman in this world and to remember the most legendary woman who proved their ability or cleverness in history, Don Bosco Tech Gagillapuram, Telangana centre organized "International Women's Day" on 8th March 2021 at the centre level.

 This day brings a cause for celebration of woman, a reason to pause and re-evaluate a remembrance, an inspiration and a time to honour, love and admire womanhood. 

Warm welcome words were addressed by Rev. Fr. Sarath the centre head of DBHRDC to inspire and to encourage all the women to keep excelling consistently and to keep moving ahead. The Guest of Honour for this event was Mrs Josephine, a Ward member of Gagillapuram. Rev. Fr. Sebastian was invited to the program. The Electrical students and the tailoring students offered flower bouquets to all the women and greeted them. They also distributed many hand-made colourful greeting cards. The efforts of the students were clearly reflected by the message given in those cards.

We started the day of the programme by giving some awareness classes to be strong enough to think and to be brave if any health issues come for our girls by Sr. Aruna.

In the second session, Mr Mohan explained the Strength of women and role-plays takes place in Woman's Life.  " Woman is the extraordinary creation by God, We should give respect to them for their amazing gift of giving birth to increase the God's plan in his creation, and to salute them by handling such a big responsibility of bearing a family, and balancing all of their roles to fulfil their lives in the society". Said Mohan.

A special program was organised by the Students and Staff. The stage was beautifully adorned with flowers and saries to give a warm welcome to all the guests. Men, women and children were cordially invited to be a part of this program. The Students dedicated poems and narratives to the women by singing and narrating great women stories out with Participants. Women were invited to share their life experiences. Girls sang melodious songs, shared stories about Mother Teresa, Sarojini Naidu, and Jancy Laxmi Bai.

There were inspiring and challenging messages given by Rev. Fr. Sudhakar and Rev.Fr. Sabastian in order to empower the women in the world. The skit performed by the electrical students signifying many social issues such as Female Infanticide, Women's harassment, Rape culture as well as Gender Inequality mesmerized the audience with tears and nostalgia. The group dance was based on the theme of Women Empowerment in which the dancers showed various “avatars” of the women tribe.

A few games were conducted to the BSK staff and centre staff by the students. Sweets and snacks were kept for refreshment. The teachers blessed the students and thanked them for such big efforts. Words of gratitude were proposed by Rev. Fr. Sudhakar to the gathering. Finally, the day has filled with the joy of happiness and contented smiley faces of Women who arrived for the International Women's Day Programme.
