Guest Lecture of Hospitality (Food and Beverage Service - Steward)

 15 November, 2019 : To enhance skills and provide extra knowledge in Hospitality sector Don Bosco Tech Gagillapuram, Telangana organized guest lecture for the hospitality trainees on 15th  of November 2019 at the centre. Mr.Pavan Kumar ,General Manager of SVR Hospitality services at Hi-Tech city, has been invited as guest lecturer to the centre. He was welcomed by the centre head Mr. Sarath and the staff of Hospitality domain Mr. Shiva Kumar. Ms. Kalpana CE & ITeS trainer at the centre gave brief introduction about the guest and started the session.

Mr.Pavan Kumar started session with the definition of hotel, departments in hotel Industry, as well as food & beverages services, and also explained briefly about services to the guest in the hotel, practical’s were showed in the class. He explained various departments in the hotels like Laundry, Front Office, Apartments, Higher authorities, Accommodation & Operation for Housekeeping, F&B Service, F&B production and also explained  "Front desk department is having the responsibility to welcome the customer and pass the information regarding the hotel to the guests. Receptionist should receive the guest with smiling face in respective way” .

An Importance of Grooming:

“Grooming is an important element in the hotel Industry. Hair should be cut closely. The uniform should be spotless and well ironed, nails should be well manicured ,hands absolutely clean, shoes should be always being polished and conservative style. A close shave is necessary to start the duty every day. Employee has to avoid bad breath and do not bend and walk”  explained by him.

He briefed on practicals that  the trainees suppose to operate at the hotel industry and clarified their doubts with  clear answers. “A part from all the works we are executing in hotel industry being punctual, discipline, hygiene and physical appearance are the key factors which takes you to the top positions in the industry. So kindly focus more attention on such things so that future will be in our hands” .

At the end of the session he spoke about the employment in their hotel and thanked the staff and trainees of the DB Tech centre. All the staff and trainees especially expressed their deep gratitude towards  Mr. Pavan Kumar  for spending time with them and giving good orientation about hotel industry .
