On March 31, 2022, Don Bosco Tech, Palda organized a Guest Lecture for the trainees of Electrician Domestic Solutions. The speaker was Mr. Rakesh Arya (Electrical & Mechanical Supervisor, Nagar Palika Nigam, Indore). The session topics were on Solar Electric Power Generation, Electrical Ground earthing, Job Opportunities in Electrician and area of Working.

He explained to the trainees that electric energy or electricity can be produced directly from the sun through photovoltaic cells. “The photovoltaic cell is an energy conversion device that is used to convert photons' sunlight directly into electricity. It is made of semiconductors that absorb the photons received from the sun, creating free electrons with high energies,” he said. There are different Fabrication techniques to enable these cells to achieve maximum efficiency. These cells are arranged in parallel or in Series combination to form cell modules. Some of the special features of these modules are:

  1. High reliability
  2. No expenditure
  3. No Fuel
  4. The minimum cost of maintenance long life
  5. Portability, modularity, pollution-free working, etc.

Moving further, he explained to the trainees about the electrical ground earthing; how earthing is made, and its method. Different types of ground earthing; plate earthing, pipe earthing, rod earthing, and strip type earthing.

He explained to the trainees how opportunities in the Electrical field are booming saying that electricity has become a basic necessity in one’s life. So, the employment opportunity in this field has expanded today, more than before.
