Don Bosco Tech (Palda, Indore) organized a session on ‘Hardware & Networking’ for the Office Assistant trainees on January 21, 2020. The resource person was Mr. Shashank Sharma (Entrepreneur, Sharma Computer Services, Palda). He engaged the trainees with his lively session from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

“What is the fundamental difference between hardware and software,” he asked, to evaluate technical know-how. The trainees were prompt enough to answer to some of the questions.  Having listened to them all, he explained, and said, “The things which we can see and touch is hardware and the things which we can only feel the presence but can’t touch and see are called software.” He continued his session with demonstrations and concrete examples to make trainees understand.

He did brief on Input, Output and its Process (How computer operates/ functions). Thereby, he also explained about the Input/ Output devices. While briefing on Input/ Output devices, he stated the difference between the scanner and the printer. To give them a depth knowledge of Information Technology, he mentioned the usage of Computer software in different companies, making their task fast and efficient.

Before winding up the session, he made sure to explain the devices used for ‘hardware & networking’. “Switch, LAN Cables, Router, Connectors, etc. are used for networking,” said Mr. Shashank, and showed the devices too.

It was indeed a great day for the trainees. They were very keen to listen to the resource person, for he’s a jolly good fellow.
