On  January 21, 2020, Don Bosco Tech Palda Indore Organised a Guest Lecture for the Assistant Electrical trainees. The speaker was Mr Harshat Sharma who is working as an Electrical Trainer in Daksh ITI College, Kanadiya, Indore. The lecture was started at 10:30 am and session was for 2 hours and the topic was Solar Electric Power Generation.He explained to the trainees that electric energy or electricity can be produced directly from sun by means of photovoltaic cells. The photovoltaic cell is an energy conversion device which is used to convert photons sunlight directly into electricity.

He told It is made of semiconductors which absorb the photons received from the sun, creating free electrons with high energies. There are different fabrication techniques to enable these cells to achieve maximum efficiency. These cells are arranged in parallel or series combination to form cell modules. Some of the special features of these modules are:It was a good learning experience for the students. They had many questions and the speaker made the students to understand well with his interventions.
